Foli Bio is a biotech company dedicated to pioneering precision medicine by leveraging the power of body's exfoliated material. We are using a next-generation platform to unlock the temporal RNA code from our body to develop new therapies.

Our proprietary technology allows us to analyze the trace amount of human RNA in routinely exfoliated body material (e.g. stool, urine, skin) at scale and generate a holistic picture of our health in a 100% non-invasive way. 

Our initial focus is immunology & oncology in the gut, including Ulcerative Colitis (UC), Crohn’s Disease (CD) and Colorectal Cancer (CRC).

Many of the classically used markers in gut diseases are either non-specific broad markers (e.g. CPR, ESR, calprotectin, lipocalin), or invasive (e.g. endoscopy), require visiting a doctor’s office, and difficult to perform regularly to track daily changes in the gut.

We found that body's exfoliated material (e.g., stool) is a rich and untapped reservoir of biological signal that could report on our (gut) health status. Moreover, the human RNA present in the stool provides a more global view of signaling throughout the entire gastrointestinal tract and enables us to use a readily obtained sample to perform analyses comparable in scale and precision as the more cumbersome endoscope and biopsy-based transcriptomics studies, but at an ultra-high temporal resolution to assess the patient's disease state and response to therapy.

We are performing comprehensive analysis of the ongoing signaling within the gut by analyzing the human RNA in stool specimen collected from donors to generating unprecedented insights into body's dynamics in disease state and upon treatment. Depending on the needs of our partners, we will implement one of our existing analysis pipelines or develop a tailor-made solution. 

Anyone interested in understanding the ongoing cellular signals within the gut and how those are altered in settings such as disease or therapeutic intervention. We partner with fundamental researchers, translational scientists, and clinicians in both academia and pharmaceutical industry to apply our approach to a myriad of settings.

While we have found that some methods of sample storage are preferred, we’ve been able to successfully analyze a range of samples stored in various settings and time periods. Please reach out and we are happy to discuss the particulars of your sample and its feasibility for analysis.
